Just about every book on marketing and sales talks about creating a 30 second commercial for your business. You need a better answer than, “I’m a consultant,” or “I work for so and so.” I agree with those books. You should have a 30 second commercial. I want to add a thought to this: why not teach it to your staff? They are asked almost daily what it is that they do. Why not get some free exposure out of it? You never know who they know or will lead you to. Your janitor or secretary may lead you to huge deals or sales. It sure does sound a whole lot better than, “Oh I work for so and so.”
